Krishna Sadasivam, he of the venerable and funny “PC Weenies,” and the very personal and autobiographical webcomic “Uncubed.” He’s a teacher of animation, a noted cartoonist and blogger, and is very active in the growing world of webcomic-centric conventions like the upcoming “Intervention Con” and the “Up Fair.” We have a great talk about his comics, his cultural heritage, the world of animation, the importance of building an internet community, and how teaching and sharing information is so important.
All this, and a new Lemon List! The recent “Marmaduke” movie got people talking about other comic strips that have been turned into movies. Well, Jonathan Lemon of “Rabbits Against Magic” doesn’t like people messing with his favorite art form, so he’s taking the opposite approach…what movies would make good comic strips! Enjoy!

That was a great show, guys. Always love starting my week to some TTR.
Hi Tom
What a fantastically interesting interview. Krishna M. Sadasivam is a very articukate and fascinating guy to listen to. Very knowledgeable and covers a wide range of cartooning stuff. How does he do it all?? One question…is there anywhere to see his animaton stuff at all> I’d love to see what animation he has done in Flash…
Keep up the good work…
One other question: Who’ll rrach episode 100 first TallTales or Comics Coast to Coast???
Could it be a photo finish across the line? Phil
That should be reach 100 first….too early here to spell properly… Phil
And articulate not articukate,,,
Phil
Well, the Boys over at CC2C are at 99…so my money’s on them.
If I stay on schedule, #100 is set for the 20th. No guest yet…but I have hopes.
Hey guys, I really enjoyed this interview. Great stuff. Krishna’s a talented guy for sure. Those were some of my favorite comics growing up as well in the 70′s along with Shang Chi master of Kung fu. Keep up the great work Tom.
This was a great interview. I have to say I knew about PC Weenies before but it was something that I wasn’t really interested in. And honestly, I thought the name Krishna was just a joke I didn’t get. Now with your interview I find that this guy is pretty cool and I love the stories behind the comics and the faces behind the comics. Thanks TALE TAIL RADIO!
Tom does his homework which is great… the one sided stories and one sided banter is a bit much. Let the guest talk more. But, personalities are personalities. Other than that, I do like these and I’ve been kicking and screaming… coming back to your podcast. Great job. Professional Job.
By the way, a long time ago, didn’t you used to give all your guests a comics quiz? That was fun to find out much I knew… and how geeky you and your guests are!?!
From Krishna’s mouth – “Don’t think of anything as a failure, think of it as a learning experience.”
I like that. I could really use that to comfort myself and move on without dwelling on recent things I feel like failed at!
Also, that was one of my favorite Lemon List’s so far! I so want to do a comic about a squirrel skipping out on hibernation now!!!
Carlos! Yeah, Krishna definitely seems like the type we’d all hang out with for beers and comics talk!
Magnus! Great comments…glad you’ve discovered PC Weenies. I hope you browse through Uncubed…I honestly think it’s great. Very honest and interesting…and I love his art style. I am sorry you felt that the banter here was a little one sided at times…it’s a balance I really try hard to find. Most of the time, I toss out the questions, step out of the way, and herd them down the path as best I can.
This was my first-ever conversation with Krishna, but he’s a teacher and a very naturally nice guy…I think I forgot I was recording there for a minute and went off my own tangents! Obviously, I want to bring something interesting to the table, and I hope that people like hearing what I have to say as well, but I am very mindful of the balance. My trick is to look at the physical wave files when I’m editing…I make sure that the guest’s track is the one that’s playing at least 75% of the time, or I’ve done something wrong.
And I did do the comics quiz thing…it was fun. I need to bring that back for some guests!
Irma! Yeah…that’s great advice. As artists, and probably so in life, we learn a lot more from our failures than our successes. You can’t be afraid to put things out there and spectacularly fail…it’s the only way. And I loved that Lemon List, too! He’s amazing! Makes my production values rise through the roof!
Great interview. Home run yet again.
Thanks, Calamity Man! It’s easy when I’m lucky enough to have these interesting and talented artists to come on the show!
