Dana Simpson, artist and writer behind the remarkable “Heavenly Nostrils,” joins me to talk about her career path, through creating her first newspaper at age 5, through her political cartooning years in college, her very popular (and early!) webcomic, “Ozy and Millie,” (which you can also see on GoComics here),  how she won the Amazon Comic Superstar Contest with her submission of “Girl,” and how that morphed into her current strip about Phoebe, a spirited young woman and her best friend, Marigold…who happens to be a wonderfully ego-centric unicorn.

It’s a wide-ranging, and wonderfully honest discussion of her art, her journey of personal transformation, and comics in general.
