“Gil” is back! Norm Feuti of the syndicated “Retail” comic is back with his highly regarded webcomic “Gil,” only this time…in newspapers! King Features is launching “Gil” in early 2012, and Norm and big time syndicated editor/Grand Poobah of King Features, Brendan Burford join me to talk about why this is happening. They’re also launching a behind-the-scenes blog about the development process, and we get into a great discussion about the ways syndicates are embracing the online world as they look to new frontiers.

OK, I’m an official geek who can gush: this is the most exciting comic news I’ve heard all year. Gil was my favorite web comic and the thought that it couldn’t be sold to newspapers was depressing. I would literally drag people in front of the computer and make them read my favorite strips.
I’m very happy for you, Norm, but I’m selfishly happy for myself because it means more Gil.
I was so pleased when Brendan told me that Gill would be the next launch. I hope it gets the success it deserves.
